MANCHESTER

City Gate

Completed in May 2024, Everclad undertook the significant task of removing 3,000m² of combustible ACM cladding, spandrel panels with a phenolic core, and timber cladding from the City Gate Tower Blocks in Manchester. These materials were replaced with non-combustible cladding systems – carefully selected to align with the fire engineer’s strategy and ensure the safety of the residents.

As one of the first fire-related cladding remediation projects in the country, this project presented numerous challenges, particularly in ensuring that the architect-specified systems fully complied with updated building regulations.

To overcome these complexities, our team engaged in extensive in-house research and development, ultimately delivering a set of Tower Blocks that are both safe, attractive and indisputably compliant.

Special thanks go to our suppliers, Genius Facades, Rockpanel, RGB Facades, and Sto, for their invaluable support throughout this project. Pleasure working with Bell Building Projects as the Main Contractor on this one – we’re very proud of the successful completion of this critical remediation effort and the way it turned out.
